Trefonnen Early Years, the English medium pre-school setting, operates two groups.
The Flying Start groups runs from 9.00 am to 11:30 am, Monday to Friday during term time. This is open to children between 2 and 3 years of age who live in the Flying Start catchment area.
The Early Years 3+ group runs from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday during term time. This group is open to children from 3 years of age until they enter school. Following their time spent in the Early Years setting, children can transfer into one of Ysgol Trefonnen’s reception/nursery classes.
Cylch Meithrin Llandrindod is the Welsh medium pre-school setting.
The Welsh Medium Flying Start group runs from 12.45 pm to 3.15 pm, Monday to Friday during term time. This is for children between 2 and 3 years of age living in a Flying Start catchment area. Flying Start sessions are also open to children that do not live in the Flying Start area, but children outside the area have to pay for the session.
The Cylch runs from 9.00 am to 11.30 am, Monday to Thursday during term time. This is for children from 3 years of age until they enter school. The Cylch and the Welsh medium Flying Start group both offer early years care and education through the medium of Welsh, whether or not children come from a Welsh speaking home.
If your child attends the Cylch, they will be immersed in the Welsh language: learning nursery rhymes, colours and numbers in Welsh – you’ll be amazed how quickly they pick up the language! Following their child’s time in Cylch, parents may choose to progress to the nursery/reception class in the Welsh Stream at Ysgol Trefonnen.
